Suzuki Ignis (00 - 08)

The Ignis is the dark horse of the small car segment. It may not be as big a name as the likes of the Mazda 2 or the Ford Fusion, but it has been around longer and it has shown itself to be a durable machine. It is well built, strong and competent. It has a spacious cabin, with more than enough room to seat up to five. With the seats down it can store a lot of stuff. Even with the seats up the boot is fairly roomy. In the cabin, they stress simplicity and while some of the materials might feel a bit low-quality, they are quite tough and hard-wearing. It’s a decent car to drive too and despite being quite tall, there isn’t much wind/tyre or road noise in the cabin. The elevated driving position gives you great visibility and conveys a sense of greater control while driving. There are some good engines with low Co2 emissions and impressive fuel economy. It is also inexpensive to buy and run.
